Highlights make it look like we were battered a bit. Any comments from those at the game?

They had a lot of possession but no cutting edge up front. We had some half chances. A draw or Basford victory would probably have been a fairer result. We’d have thrashed them at home on the wet grass if it had gone to a replay.

Have to say I am not a fan of artificial pitches, granted they are more bad weather friendly but can give teams who are used to playing on them an advantage.

Steve Chettle was not happy with the disallowed goal, but watching the reply the forward bundles both the ball and Jack into the net, so understandable that the referee gave a free kick.

The replay also shows mainly Basford's play which can be expected, I listened to the Basford commentary first half as puritans radio seemed to have issues, the first 15 minutes both teams seemed to be sussing each other out, then Basford on top for 15 - 20 minutes, then Banbury on top for the rest of the first half.

Second half it sounded like Banbury had the better of first 15 minutes and then Basford pushed and pushed without any luck, then the final part was end to end and then the all important goal.

A couple Bath fans comments are so what if they are unbeaten, so we're Frome, Ox City etc.

One also claims that both Bromsgrove and us will call our midweek game off so we are ready for the cup game.

I doubt we would want to cancel the game as there will be a fixture backlog.

I was surprised that we were put in the South section of the draw, possibly because of Ware playing Kid Harriers in a replay.

As it stands Banbury have two games a week for six weeks from the end of October to the start of December.

The surprise was that Ware/Kidderminster wasn't placed in the north, given the likelihood of Harriers winning the replay at home. Hereford went north instead of Banbury.
