That will be a much harder tie than Nantwich (who Basford play Saturday). Still, they are at our level so it could have been worse. Need to start upping our game to the level it was at the start of the season

Was just going to say a scout will be at Nantwich Saturday to watch Basford.
Basford have beat Stourbridge at home and as mentioned above Micklover Sports in the FA Cup so far!
Nantwich was tricky and this will be also!
But same level and still winnable!

Yep, 5 wins on the spin for Basford after failing to win their first six. Just one goal conceded in 5 games as well.

Basford were a Notts County League team until recently. Four promotions in seasons 2011-2018, all as champions, got them to their current level. They finished 7th, five points from the play-offs, in 2018-19 and were well on course to do so again when the first shutdown happened. They started well again in last season's brief campaign. Their combined record for the two abandoned seasons was P41 W22 D8 L11 F64-A48 Pts 74.
They have an artificial pitch at their Greenwich Road stadium.
And just for the record, the 'a' in Basford is pronounced as in 'base'.

Basford had another win last night, 3-2 at Warrington, scoring all three in the last 20 minutes after being two down. It was their 5th consecutive in the league (after none in their first six) and 7th in all competitions with the FA Cup.

Warrington were as noted 2 nil up, sending off early in the second half changed the game. No 9 for Basford was also sent off late on They just about won at Nantwich, and have seen that first half against both Nantwich and Warrington Basford were not at the races played better second half. Im sure Wingy found some petrol and watched them last night, so we will be prepared. It will be a tight game! |
