Yup. Once again our geography doesn't help us. Oh well.

Nuneaton Borough Nantwich were a feeder league club (NWC) until 2007† when they were promoted to the expanding NPL First Division. They won promotion to the Premier division via the play-offs in their first season and have been at that level since, losing in the play-offs in 2019. They were on course for the play-offs again when the plug was pulled. They reached the first round in 2011, 2017 and again in 2019, beating Telford and King's Lynn on the way. † The club moved to the Weaver Stadium in Kingsley Fields that summer, having spent 123 years at their former Jackson Lane ground. Here's a feature on the latter: thegroundhog.wordpress.com/2007/04/07/nantwich-town/

Tables might not mean so much at this time of the season as they do from November onwards but here are Nantwich's results anyway along with the current positions of their opponents – and the NPL Premier Div has played a couple of rounds more than SLPC. They're 15th after last night's matches and they've picked up most of their points from teams in the bottom half of the table (as have Banbury).

A new club record was set today (at least as United) for an unbeaten start of 9 matches in all competitions, beating the previous set in 99-00 and 18-19.
Banbury will be in the 3rd Qualifier for just the 17th time in 82 seasons but it's the 4th in six. That's been done only once before: 1972-78.

If the draw follows last year setup, there'll be just three zones. Banbury were in the central section then. Here are yesterday's other survivors from the midland section: Boston United (6) Brackley Town (6) Kettering Town (6) Kidderminster Harriers (6) Leamington (6) Basford United (7) Bromsgrove Sporting Buxton (7) Stratford Town Tamworth Cleethorpes Town (8) Stamford (8) Handsworth (Sheffield) (9) Hanley Town (9) Long Eaton United (9) Spalding United / Kettering Town (8/6)
Probable moves: Handsworth to the north; Peterborough Sports and Norwich United (9) in from East Anglia.
Only five SLPC clubs are through; Needham Market and Leiston have home replays.
