...that 1 nil win is a long time ago now!! Feb 17th 2001 but it could have been April 17th, such was the weather on that beautiful day in the New Forest. The win was Banbury's third of five in seven games that allowed us all to breathe more easily after a difficult first five months back in the SL. The 100 were from Banbury, the 77 from Bashley... Who can name the goalscorer?

Not answering the question but wasn't that when one of their defenders who had just come out of jail wanted to take on the banbury fans after the game?! And Muckelberg getting sent off?

...wasn't that when one of their defenders who had just come out of jail wanted to take on the Banbury fans after the game?! And Muckelberg getting sent off? Indeed it was. I thought it was the following season but I've dug out the programme from the following home match. This extract is from the report: "In the second half, Bashley's players were even more cynical than in the first and physio Wally Hastie seemed to be permanently on call. The home side's Simon Eley, who received a yellow card early in the first half for a crude challenge on Les Phillips, deserves a special mention for the most undisciplined display that I have witnessed in the league this season. He spent the greater part of the second half threatening and verbally abusing the Banbury supporters at every opportunity* and it was amazing that he stayed on the pitch for the whole game. In the 9th minute of injury time the magnificent Terry Muckelberg was sent off for a second bookable offence, which was ironic given that...the extra time was played for time lost while Banbury players were being treated for injuries resulting from Bashley's crude tactics." * Who wound him up?!

A little bit of a positive vibe people - Puritans 2-0 PLUS a penalty saved thrown in for good measure!

We are 7/2 to win tonight
After Saturday I don't think that is particulary generous!
Nevertheless I have invested (or maybe wasted - time will tell) a couple of quid!!
