Bromsgrove Sporting was formed in 2009 before the demise of the ailing Rovers, effectively as an act of insurance. The initial intention was to buy Rovers out of administration; if that were not possible, then senior football could be continued in the town by starting out as a new club. As it turned out, in the summer of 2010 Rovers' lease on the council-owned Victoria Ground was terminated and they were evicted. With nowhere to play, the club was expelled from the Southern League (although not formally dissolved until a year later). Sporting were awarded the tenancy and immediately entered a team in the Midland Combination Division 2. Five promotions in nine seasons brought them to the Southern League's Premier Division Central, a level at which Rovers had last played in 2008. Sporting were 4th in the table in March of the 2019-20 season and well placed for the play-offs when the country was closed down. Since the resumption of 2021-22, they have struggled to make an impression, finishing 18th twice and 17th. They're currently 18th – their three victories have been over the bottom three. Banbury v. Banbury v. Rovers: The clubs last met in the 07-08 season. The 78 league meetings to that point were the most Banbury had played against any opponents but that total has since been overtaken by Stourbridge (88) and Redditch (79). Banbury won 30 and Bromsgrove 34 with 14 draws (in the SL, 12 to Banbury, 10 to Bromsgrove and 8 draws). Other matches of note: 1968-69 W 3-2 L 0-1 Midland Floodlit Cup

I well remember the Trophy victory. Brilliant performance, Norman Sylla at his very best that day!! As I remember, a decent size crowd, with a good following from Banbury.

Plus points, we didn’t lose and the sun was shining,that is as far as it goes, 11 players that didn’t seem to realise they were all on the same side, it was painful to watch. Just as well that Bromsgrove were equally clueless. The vaunted support the manager alludes to in every interview will fall away fast if this is served up every week and as far as subs in the 85th minute a total and utter waste of time. Patience is wearing thin.

Boring and uninspiring! Can’t go on like this, I know it’s still early days but very much worrying times, no creativity no skill no flair. As for the subs situation, what is the point in us having them? Manager needs to sort it immediately!

What a dreadful game. Both teams were woeful.
Do the club seriously believe that people will keep parting with their money to watch this dross ?
We have got some decent players, but they are playing as individuals. No plan B. The plan seems to be keep a clean sheet at ALL costs. Defend, defend, defend. Those of us watching want some passion, some fast attacking play,forward passes, something to cheer about.
The football is quite frankly boring.
As for the substitutions, well what a joke. We were looking dreadful for most of the game, but the manager decided that the best time to change things was in the 90th minute. Pathetic management.
This cannot be allowed to continue. We will soon be playing in front of less than 300 people. As I left the ground I heard three different people say that they will certainly not be there Tuesday night.
We are sliding downhill at an alarming rate.

Can only echo what’s been said really, it was a totally dreadful effort from both teams, boring boring boring- not what people want to be spending hard earned cash on.
Up there with the Dunstable performance under Ford for me, it was that bad. The manager not changing things to the end suggests he wasn’t really thinking positively enough to go for the win- at home to lower placed apposition infront of 600 fans you have to absolutely be going for the win.
Feel like there is a sense of mediocrity across the club at the moment with those involved- not inspiring anyone at all

I guess you look for a team to get progressively better as the games come around but we seem to be getting progressively worse- and not showing the same fight we showed in the early games Admittedly, Injuries and suspensions leading to an unsettled side and kids who are way off the level playing haven’t Helped matters- but over the last 7/8 games we’ve probably had only a handful of shots on goal - which is leading to the current state of frustration Today aside still like to think we have the makings of a solid team, if we can find a way to make the attack more of a threat |

As an aside to Saturdays game if the idiot who set off a smoke flare at the end of the game reads this, GROW UP , if the referee reported this it’s another fine the club can ill afford.
