Today's attendance of 1,535 has been exceeded only four times in the previous 50 seasons. Hereford and Northampton? Who were the other 2? 18.11.72 – 1,762 – Barnet, FAC 1 03.11.73 – 1,553 – Tamworth, FAC 4Q 24.11.73 – 4,730 – Northampton Town, FAC 1 21.11.94 – 1,871 – Aston Villa, BSC 2 There were plenty of four-figure attendances in the early United years (up to 1974) but not many of 1,500, most of which were in the first two seasons (66-68). NB There was not a single attendance of 1,000+ in 71-72, the forgotten season of that period.

Bowers and Pitsea @ home, please. My kind of thinking. Sunderland or Sheffield Wednesday away would almost certainly see supporters confined to a single block of seats, probably high up in a corner, with the stadium not even a quarter full.

Not bad. Could have been better, could have been worse. Anyone know what the max capacity is now - 2.5k ?

Not bad. A league side at home although with respect to Barrow not a glamour league side. Could have been a lot worse including playing them away with a long trek for our supporters.

Bit disappointing. Unlikely to be on tv, very difficult to win.

Might be on TV why so pessimistic Geoff?
Full House, on TV would be good for the club.
Wait and see what the BBC and ITV will broadcast.

The game 'might' be appealing for TV - could be a tight game, and possibly better than a 'minnow' v 'big fish'. Not long to wait and find out. UTP!

From twitter
Thomas Feaheny @thomasfeaheny · 52m In terms of TV games for the FA Cup 1st Round matches, these will all surely have a chance: -Bolton Wanderers v Stockport County -Dag & Red v Salford City -Banbury United v Barrow -Portsmouth v Harrow Borough -AFC Sudbury v Colchester United -Lincoln City v Bowers & Pitsea

A league team at home. Good enough for me.

There's no lack of video material on Barrow for the Banbury management's homework. A quick look at some of them suggests they have a couple of dangerous strikers but that the keeper might be a bit of a flapper. Travellers? Perhaps 150-200 at Stevenage, double that at Oldham. I'm sure one of their supporters will be on here soon to give us the low-down.

Should push for 2k in attendance for this game , depending on when and if it’s televised. Spread the word people !!!!
