Comments from Weymouth forum: "Terrible - midfield totally absent as a result a poor side was able to beat us with ease." "Awful, disgraceful, pathetic! Barely a decent pass in 90 minutes and not a shot on goal worthy of the name."
While it's rare for supporters to praise the opposition when their team has lost, I have some sympathy with the first because Banbury weren't good – but they didn't have to be because on that showing it's hard to see how Weymouth managed even to wipe out their deficit let alone earn the extra 21 points. Plenty of good defending from Banbury (great block in the second half from, er, someone...) but the lack of midfield presence simply saw Weymouth regain possession (and they had as much of that as Banbury in the first half). Better from Banbury in the second half but then Weymouth left a lot of room trying to get back in it. Pretty poor fare overall but Banbury deserved the win. Their second and third goals were worthy of better games.
A good word for the ref who kept it under control. With a weaker official it could have got nasty in the first half.
Anyway, 10 points clear again – of the five sides below Banbury this morning only Didcot gained a point so time to breathe more easily. Just the little matter of Salisbury and Hednesford away in the next two games to worry about now...

Wasn't pretty, far from it,but eased some pressure and it's hard to see how Halesowen and Weymouth can pass us as there pish. Pleased for Rose nice finish, only Declan and Maddox really stood out in midfield. Be a shame if weymouth go,lively fans and a top away day,but they were dreadful.

A crucial win against a side who, in my opinion, tried to bully us ouf the game in the first half so well done to the team for standing up to this.
Decelan deservedly the MoM, persistence earned the penalty and then beautiflly weighted pass to set up Ashton for the second. Defence worked hard to deny space to Weymouth and Maddox does a very good harrying role if some of his passing goes a bit astray. Hopefully Nathan will get back to fitness soon to allow Joe to go back on the right because we miss him there.
Delighted to see Rose get a start and rewarded with a great finish after lovely ball from Stone. We have missed a lot of one on ones recently so good to see one put away so well.
Halesowen are doomed, how we lost to them heaven knows, Weymouth looked dreadful and off field problems must not be helping. Tiverton lost again which is good for us and Didcot only drew (admittedly with Salisbury) so looking a lot rosier than if we had lost!

This was a vital game for us, and we came away with three points. Hopefully we are now safe. It was another poor game, Weymouth were awful. Three points are three points, but we are not playing well.
