There's not much to write about Bishop's Stortford, so I won't. Delphian, Athenian and Isthmian Leagues post-WW2, Conference regional after 2004. How the world laughed at the idea of them going into the northern section in 2011... They went back south two years later and were relegated in 2017, playing Banbury in their single season in the SLP before being moved to the Isthmian which they won in 2023. Their reward was another tour of the Badlands. This lasted just one year. Despite finishing 33 points from safety and conceding 112 goals, they still managed to take four points from Banbury as the clubs accompanied one another out of the division. FA Cup – First Round 14 times, 3 times to Second, once to Third (they drew 2-2 at Second Division Middlesbrough in 82-83, coming from two down to draw before losing in the replay at home, where 6,000 crammed into their old Rhodes Avenue stadium). Not holding my breath for this one given that their only just above last Saturdays opponent, all depends on which Banbury side turns up.

The radio boys were struggling to find much to say. It's Banbury's first successful comeback of the season, if that's of any interest.
"We'll have a good team next season" said one of the Old Guard, way back when. He said it many times...

16th in the form table based on the last 10 games.
scored 2 goals in our last 2 games, against teams who had conceded a combined total of 20 in their previous 2 fixtures.
some of the most boring football you could ever wish to watch, and a manager who is already lying to supporters about the smallest and most pointless things.
atmosphere at games has gone through the floor, and the attendances will soon follow.
cant really fault the recruitment, but we are an absolutely awful team to watch right now.
I dont think anybody had any false expectations of waltzing our way back into the national league, and after the one man mission to destroy this club we've had over the previous couple of years, we've got a lot of rebuilding to do.
but this manager is absolutely rubbish. a statistician with seemingly no tactical awareness who has surrounded himself with inexperienced yes men.
it's unfair to compare him to whingy. but ask yourself, if someone like a jimmy dean, or even a mike ford had this same group of players, do you think we would be seeing the same outcome?
the sad reality is that this club is just treading water until the day the landlords lock the gates and we fold.
So lets get in an elliot sandy or a kelvin langmead and at least have a bit of fun while the journey lasts
