Hitchin were one of those clubs that had always been in the Isthmian sector before the reforms of 2004, prior to which Banbury had met them only once in senior competition, an FA Cup 1Q tie in 1966 which they won 4-1. All the results below are SL Premier. The top attendance in 16-17 was for the penultimate home match – both clubs were going for the play-offs. Hitchin qualified (and lost in the final at Leamington), Banbury finished five points short. Hitchin were reprieved from relegation in the spring. They have continued their poor form, three times conceding five. However, they also have one of the season's surprise results to their name, a 4-0 win at Halesowen. 04-05 – W 2-1 [623] L 0-1 [307] 05-06 – D 2-2 [333] L 0-3 [367] 06-07 – L 2-3 [406] W 2-1 [268] 07-08 – D 1-1 [263] D 3-3 [364] 08-09 – L 1-4 [310] L 0-2 [314] 11-12 – D 1-1 [256] W 2-1 [347] 12-13 – L 0-4 [216] W 2-1 [363] 13-14 – W 2-1 [290] L 0-5 [322] 14-15 – L 0-3 [196] L 0-2 [288] 16-17 – D 1-1 [740] L 1-3 [350] 17-18 – W 1-0 [369] W 3-0 [391] 18-19 – L 1-2 [427] W 1-0 [375] 19-20 – D 0-0 [405] D 0-0 [360] 21-22 – W 3-1 [604] W 2-0 [575]

Awful, only way to describe it to capitulate like we did, in previous games we have moaned because of not using subs but taking off Ball and Donaldson ruined the game. Gordon contributed nothing other than giving the ball away on numerous occasions. There is a total lack of tactics, beginning to lose faith in the manager.

Okay folks, I'm going to be honest with you, this manager just isn't doing a very good job. I am aware it's still early days, but something is wrong. The players are not bad players, but they look totally lost. The lack of tactics is somewhat embarrassing. It's not just today, things haven't been right for a while. Losing at home to Hitchin is not good enough. You cannot keep dropping home points. Today's display was not good enough, players looking confused and playing as individuals. I'm sorry, but I have absolutely no faith in the manager. He needs replacing asap in my opinion. Time for a change of direction with a more passionate and energetic manager.

Is Sandy still out of work? Surely Spalding pulled the plug too early.

Very disappointing. Decent crowd again let down. Must win games like that to keep the crowds coming. Very disappointing

His interviews are always a painful listen, devoid of any enthusiasm, energy and passion
There’s a decent enough group of players there, but something just doesn’t feel quite right! Abit like off the pitch I might add too

Have to agree Liam, bland same old statements every time we lose, never says anything about player performance that we can all see, total lack of visible enthusiasm.
