Well that’s a first for the club for us to get a good insight for the new man in charge. Out with the old and in with the new and see where it takes us.

Just back from my travels and catching up with the announcement.

Initial reaction is that if he's half as good at managing BUFC as he is being interviewed on screen then we've got ourselves a real jewel ! I know that big clubs give media training but he still delivered it !

The Board have done an excellent job, easy route could've been a tried and failed elsewhere in the Midlands journeyman but our new Manager is so far removed from that, we have the fresh start ahead that we all needed !

Roll on the new season !

Tom Lorraine as the new assistant manager is an interesting appointment. As a player he was one of those of some quality who passed through the club in the dark years between Kevin Brock's departure and the takeover. Living locally has obviously influenced his decision. Rushden fans are sad to see him go. He was a great favourite there in two spells but there doesn't appear to be any bitterness about his departure (so far, anyway), just good wishes.

And at 34 he might still be useful on the pitch if there's an injury crisis...

Has anyone listed to SH's latest interview? It was very...considered. He was a bit coy when asked about last season's squad and whether any would be staying on. He was also reluctant to be drawn on new signings but I suppose that's understandable with five weeks still to go.

On the basis of his interviews so far I think it's fair to say you probably won't hear him shouting from the touchline: "Go on, get into 'em! Stick it to 'em! Take 'im out!"
