www.banburyunitedfc.co.uk/news/match-preview-scunthorpe-united-v-banbury-united-2839160.htmlThe opening line says "Come on lads, give us a break!". There follow references as to how unlikely it would have seemed 15 years ago that the two clubs would ever meet in league competition. Let's hope that if we aren't playing Scunthorpe next season, it's only because they've been promoted. In addition to a careless typo, there is also a big factual error in there. See if you can spot it (if it hasn't been corrected by the time you read it).

Expected result, now nine points from safety, it’s not going to happen.

It looks that way now, doesn't it? We can argue the toss as to what effect a different result at Potato Park might have had but Darlington's win was the bad one, while Blyth pulled on the brake handle when they needed to.
Banbury have games in hand but they don't look like a team that can take advantage of them. Even if they had dug out four or five more draws earlier this season, you'd still fear for them from here.
Should the club be advertising for a new manager now? It might not look an inviting prospect but better to strike early than to again be scrabbling about in the close season. Hemel sacked their manager a couple of weeks ago, so they're prepared to risk it this late even though they're close to the relegation places.

At face value 2-0 sounds respectable, but the reality is once again the opposition goalkeeper didn’t have a single save to make.Scunny missed a hatful of chances, and you felt they could easily have gone up a gear any moment, sad truth is they realised we had nothing and didn’t need to.
We are an awful awful team to watch, can’t string a pass together, can’t create chances, can’t defend. It’s all very sad and I just cant wait for the season to end and hopefully we get our house in order off the pitch or I fear we’ll be on for a double relegation and probably the end of BUFC.
We absolutely should be getting a manager (and chairman) in place for next season asap!

A very sad summing up of where we actually are, we all know we had struggled in the latter part of last season under AW but at least we thought there was a bit of hope but since then mis-managed and now certainties for the drop, player turnover becoming a joke and apart from a couple of loanees none in my opinion are nowhere near any good at this level never mind Southern League as Liam says get this season out of the way and take a long hard look at things. At least we know there will be a change at the top for hopefully a fresh start.
Oh well the kudos of the OSC to come, deep joy.

We absolutely should be getting a manager (and chairman) in place for next season asap! Manager first, I'd suggest. Changing the chairman could take longer than necessary unless RJ offers to step aside because someone has offered to take over and a long-winded election process can be avoided. When AW arrived the club was ambitious and well-run. Now it's defeatist and shambolic.

Steve I’m not sure if you missed it but RJ has already announced he’s standing down at the end of the season (only a matter of weeks now)
Problem with that is how can you recruit a manager when you don’t know who and how the club will be ran next season. Which is why it’s kind of important to get that side of things in order quickly so a manager and playing squad can be assembled rather then scrambling around late June (again) as we all know how that turns out

Steve I'm not sure if you missed it but RJ has already announced he's standing down at the end of the season (only a matter of weeks now) Obviously! The club should consider approaching Kelvin Langmead. He knows the club and knows the division – SLP Central, that is. He's assistant manager at Kettering, so he knows what it's like to be involved with a club with very limited resources (though admittedly greater potential support) and a team that has been at the wrong end of the table for much of the season. Kettering look to be easing themselves away now with a recent double over Sudbury but they'd still be in trouble if Nuneaton hadn't folded. Pick up your phone now, Ronnie!

I hadn't seen this when I posted earlier: www.banburyunitedfc.co.uk/news/applications-for-new-chair-welcomed-2839530.htmlMy eye was drawn to this: "Achieving the prize of owning our own ground may involve a complete rethink and debate about the way the club is owned, structured and operated."I can't think of a club owned by its supporters, whether a transfer as at Banbury or a startup/reform, that has changed to a form of private ownership. We had quite a lively debate on here in 18-19 about ownership!

Everyone associated with the club has accepted our fate, look at the league table on Jan 30th and ask how it's come to this.Absolutely disgraceful. Man in the dugout shouldn't be anywhere near a club after so many years away. Gallows humour for our last 9 games at step two for a generation

That makes very difficult reading, 7 clear with 2 games in hand, this relegation should not have happened.
