Who'd have thought it? The 13th attempt at winning there since 1988.

Indeed, a good away win albeit against a KL side that is a shadow of previous sides. A very satisfying result at a horrible place to go.

Well that was a HUGE three points for us tonight against a team below us, fantastic stuff !
Other results tonight (with pre kick-off league positions in brackets)
(8) Chorley 3-2 Buxton (16)
(17) Farsley Celtic 2-1 Curzon Ashton (7)
(23) Gloucester City 2-1 Peterborough Sports (18)
(21) Kings Lynn 1-2 Puritans (19)
Shame re the two late goals scored by Farsley and the late winner by Gloucester but we can't have everything I s'pose !!

What a weird season. Best away record in the league, 2nd worst at home

It's both better and worse than that. As played, Banbury are top away and bottom at home. On ppg, they're 2nd away and 23rd at home.
In 17-18, Mike Ford's team finished 5th away and 16th at home (9th overall, 24 clubs).

A great win,and three very important points. Get another win on Saturday and we could be mid table.

I've just had a look through (and I might be wrong), but, as I missed the Chester (2022/23 season) win, I've only seen Banbury win once (in league) at home in 2023 (Warrington)?

Chester was this season but yes, that and the win against Warrington are the only home league wins this calendar year. Last season's 13 home league games without a win was a club record and was extended by one this season before beating Chester.
23-24 – P 20 Pts 28, 16th 22-23 – P 20 Pts 32, _7th. That was after beating Chorley in November but on Tuesday 13th December last season, Banbury won at Boston, P 22 Pts 35, also 7th.

The home form for whatever reason is dire and that is what is keeping people away as is being reflected in the home gates. As we all know we need cash through the turnstiles for the revenue, without that we can’t improve the team given some of the ridiculous wages that we all know are being paid in this league.

From the Chester forum: Rio Doherty Full-time results: Chorley 3-2 Buxton Farsley Celtic 2-1 Curzon Ashton Gloucester City 2-1 Peterborough Sports King's Lynn Town 1-2 Banbury United.
Late drama at Farsley, as they scored twice in injury time to come from behind against Curzon Ashton, with former Seal George Waring receiving a red card. Chorley's win means they leapfrog us into fourth on goal difference.
Frank Owen's Paintbrush Farsley doing us a favour with 94th and 98th minute goals to beat Curzon Ashton. Waring had put Curzon in front in the first half but was sent off in-between the two Farsley goals. Chorley gone above us on goal difference with that 3-2 win over Buxton.
The other two games were just bottom of the league dross weren't they. The arse of this division basically.I can't think that we've ever been as disparaging about other clubs as that...have we?

Absolutely no sympathy whatsoever with this club, another example of chucking money at it year on year then wondering why it’s all going wrong. It does however astound me what some of the players in this league think they are worth but then not delivering for being paid inflated wages.
