Commercial Manager Advert

I have just read the advert for a new Commercial Manager and am struggling to understand who will take this up for 21 hours a week. I seem to remember that this task was all done by volunteers who cost the club absolutely nothing but for some reason or another like other roles in the club they have thrown in the towel and given up. Given that as I understand we are still a Community Fan Owned Club it doesn’t feel like it and hasn’t done for a while. Just my personal opinion.

Why so downbeat ?

Volunteers performed heroics to build the club into its current position which is unrecognisable from five/ten years ago but volunteers need money to be able to live. Some have other occupations, all have lives !

The Club is now more professional than ever before, we're playing at a level that none of us would have believed possible a few years back !

Crowd segregation etc., are because the Club has been successful !

There are not enough volunteers.

We are in a higher league, trying to be more professional. The advert is a way to try and progress

If the successful applicant sticks at it for a year, that's another £15K to find!

I look forward with interest to the 22-23 accounts.
