Not going to read too much into this first game,overall the first half was pretty even but second half Spennymoor pressed a lot more without us replying as much. The first goal was contentious as there was a handball unseen by the officials in the build up and the throw in that led up to the penalty should have been the other way. No argument about the third goal,caught fair and square on the break. Just hoping the standard of officials improves as the season progresses, ref today was clueless as was the linesman on the new stand side.

Early days, long,long way to go.
But let's be honest, second half they tore us apart. What I witnessed today makes me fearful for the rest of the season. I think we could be in trouble.

Some decent players but this ain’t no team for me. Hope to be proven wrong but look certs for relegation on this showing. Never know there may be 4 worse teams in the league. Left back looked way out of his depth. Hewitt looked ok and probably should have scored, keeper good stop. Early doors but worrying signs on just one showing.
Really struggled with aerial ball, we had the tallest bloke on the park and he looked to miss the ball more than head it. I would like to see highlights to confirm my thoughts.

In his post-match interview, MJ referred to the 'performances of a couple of players' (listen from about 5m 20s). That sounds like he won't indulge anyone for too long. It might be a month or so before the side settles down.

Personally first half I thought it was a decent performance. Attacking play and plenty of effort.
Second half Spennymoor moved up a gear and look a very good side.
Perhaps we ran out of steam or just were out played by what could be one of the better teams in the league. We will see.
It’s early days but overall I think we have a decent squad and will be ok. Give them a chance chaps!
