All about money. We just cannot compete. Would expect every player to leave except perhaps Jack

A question. Does being a fan owned community club mean specific financial rules are applied that are not for clubs run on a different model.

All I would say is we were aware that some players would move on irrespective of who the manager was and if others think the grass is greener good luck to them. Let’s concentrate on the new broom and see what he brings before we start passing judgement.

1st signing today. A good start. Hopefully a busy couple of weeks. I was thinking, there is a very real posibility the 1st BUFC team in pre-season could be 100% 'new' players. Sam Brown, Jack H, Ben Taylor, Simeon Maye and Ben Acquaye yet to commit - or not. Plus anyone I may have missed, like Josh Smile who was injured. Interesting times.

Comments from Harding seem positive. I'd happily have him as skipper.

A question. Does being a fan owned community club mean specific financial rules are applied that are not for clubs run on a different model? A good question to which the answer is 'probably not'. Remaining solvent should be the aim of any club, whatever its structure! Attached are the club rules. Sections 4, 5 and 6 on Objects and Powers should help you. There's plenty of reading out there on Community Benefit Societies. BUFC CBS rules.pdf (334.43 KB)

We had three very good and very, very steady years under Whingy - an ambitious and successful Manager like him will move on.
This is non-league football, players have families and work outside of football and two players who have unfortunately moved on have cited work/travelling. It's a slog trundling up and down the motorways to the North East and North West, it's not for every player leaving home at 6 in the morning and getting back at midnight and even worse in midweek when they have to get up for work the next morning.
We haven't got a rich benefactor, we can't pay big wages
We do currently play at a very good level which will attract players
We've a reputation for playing attractive football and developing young players some of whom have moved onto a higher level of football
Banbury United is not doom and gloom as some on here and social media would have you think, this is football and most clubs are going through what we are, it's football !!

We currently play at a very good level which will attract players. Hereford have taken a punt on a player from a lower level by signing Jason Cowley from Stourbridge. He had scored 147 goals in 194 games in four seasons there and at Bromsgrove.

Observations which make the news on the sponsorship front most welcome.

Should we assume Ben Acquaye will be with BUFC next season, or not, do you think?

Should we assume Ben Acquaye will be with BUFC next season, or not, do you think? Guess that will depend on how many charges he will face and of course the length of the undoubted ban he will receive as a result of his stupidity.

There are others, including Greg Kaziboni (12) during and after his time at Banbury; Nathan Olukanmi (1,991), 20th August 2016 to 9th October 2022; Callum Westwood (1,319), 1st August 2016 to 20th September 2021. EDIT: Not all Banbury, of course, just picked from the list.
