This is not good, hopefully it’s because he wants to progress and not because of any tension behind the scenes. Up to the board now to find a suitable replacement and fairly soon.

Very bad news. Hopefully nothing to do with next seasons budget. Very interesting to see who takes the role on.

Any word on if the Solihull job is on his radar or he on theirs. Wonder how long the rest period will last. Thanks for the memories, did a cracking job on a shoestring.
Thought the last appointment was big, this one is huuuuugggeeee!!

He did a great job given the budget he worked with - certainly not top 6 as the board wanted the fans to believe. Lack of options on the bench cost us towards the end of the season. I would imagine the budget he was offered for next season wasn't good enough hence his quote about taking the club as far as he can. Board need to act ASAP to find a suitable replacement otherwise players will not re-sign and club will be in a relegation battle before a ball is kicked.

Sadly this was inevitable - everyone in non-league football has watched our rise up to National League North status. Everyone would've been impressed with the professionalism and our style of play, Andy Whing was great and we need to simply sit back and appreciate how lucky we've been to have had him and his team here.
What we don't need to do is start making up silly tales re the Board not backing him, Andy not getting the budget that he wanted etc., etc., etc. We're a supporters owned Club with a very restricted budget because of it but we're so much better off than other clubs.
The Board found and recruited Andy Whing, let's sit back and see who they recruit next

Certainly seems more than a coincidence that Chris Allen has resigned tonight.

As a generally optimistic sort, at this point, I'd like to see this as the end of the beginning. If Chris Allen is the sort of manager the club tries for (from SFL press report: "The 50-year-old holds a UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching qualification in the country, and coaches at Coventry City under-21s.") then that would be a positive move. If it is Mike Ford... ) only joking.

"Andy's departure has undoubtedly added a short delay to player retention and recruitment plans and we will be working at full speed to build a team in good time for the opening of the National League North player registration window."
Translation: "Bl**dy awful timing and we're in danger of losing some of our best players."

As a result it’s a very short window for applications which in the circumstances it has to be, would suggest there may be candidates in the pipeline, we will have to wait and see.
