He's on the play-off trail again. Evesham qualified on Saturday but for much of the season were outside the top five, spending just 10 days there between mid-November and last Wednesday, when a win at Willand took them up to 5th. On Saturday, they had to win to be sure of qualifying. Their opponents were champions Totton and at half-time, 0-2 down and with a man sent off, they were looking at other results to help them out but they came back to win 3-2 and finish 4th.

Not to be this time. Evesham went down 0-3 last night.
Elsewhere, little old Didcot qualified for the SL1 play-offs for the first time since their brief spell in the Premier Division (09-11) and won their semi-final last night. They face Ware, beaten in the final last year by North Leigh. St. Neots made a lot of noise a few years ago, especially when beating the reformed King's Lynn to the UCL title in 2011. In 2015 they were one match away from Step 2 football (they lost the SLP play-off final at Truro) but now face a play-off to avoid being relegated back to the UCL.

A word for Didcot who won today. They've been in the play-offs three times before but had played only one match at home in them prior to this season, a semi-final defeat by Oxford City in 2008 that was watched by just 403. Today's attendance was 1,938.
