Looking at the Gateshead side coming out this was always going to be a big ask and when they scored a very easy goal early on you could be forgiven for thinking it could have all gone really wrong but to be fair we hung in and especially in the second half we gave it a good go, a mention for the ref, totally clueless, how Langmead being flattened in the box right in front of him was not a penalty only he will know. As for Jay Williams the challenge he put in was reckless and it was no surprise the other player reacted like he did. The whole thing resulted in a melee with two red cards being shown so Jay out again for total stupidity. Anyway back to the league now to guarantee safety for next season.
Forgot to add, I know it’s a long trip but less than 40 away fans from a National League side is pathetic.

We held our own well against higher league opposition. Good effort from the team.
Jay Williams was quite correctly red carded, goodness knows what he was thinking.
We look okay in most areas, but, we desperately need a striker. Once again we offered next to nothing in attack. I realise good strikers are hard to find, but something needs to be done. Maybe have a look at a good goalscorer in a lower league? We just can't go on up front as we are doing.
Hopefully we will avoid a relegation battle as the season progresses.

Totally outclassed 1st half. Gave it a go in the 2nd. Incredibly poor decision re Langmead penalty challenge at the end of the 1st half. Could have changed the game. In the end though the best team won.

Desperately need a striker. Not replacing Wrey and Roberts has cost this team dear

Roberts made just seven appearances for Swindon (probably mostly as sub) and is now sitting on the bench at Aldershot.

How was it NOT a penalty , what was the ref thinking . The right result in the end , we just didn’t do enough up top to warrant a place in the quarterfinals.

Having now watched the video reply several times of the Langmead penalty shout and trying to be impartial it defies belief that the referee and also the linesman gave nothing. Hugging in the area from something like a corner or a free kick is worthy of a spot kick but mugging from behind doesn’t seem to count. I don’t think it would have affected the outcome of the game but fair play was totally ignored.

Is it really any surprise?
Important info being tweeted at 2am.
Posts only being put out on one of our multiple media platforms.
Only deciding to publicise the game in the last 36 hours before kick off.

I feel like a broken record on this topic, but it is just negligence from the people in charge of this area.

We have lost significant numbers on our attendances due to the way things are currently being done.

You know that striker we all so desperately want? a proper media operation could have funded that. Fact

If only someone had approached the club pre season with a detailed plan of action of how to get on top of all this.
