Like last week will there be an early pitch inspection?
Max 3 predicted for the day and 0 degrees in the evening tomorrow! So could pass an afternoon inspection but fail an evening one! any thoughts?
Coalville fans have moaned on twitter including on the feed re Saturdays postponement say the game should be played elsewhere. Their game Saturday at home was called off for a Frozen pitch.

Game has to be in serious doubt. Nothing has thawed today, and there appears to be no change forecast.

Would like to know where Coalville fans think the game should be played, somewhere warmer abroad perhaps, totally ridiculous statement given the current climate everywhere.

Funny given that it was apparently perfectly playable on Saturday and temperatures have improved since then! According to the ref it was at 13:10 then magically an hour later it was’nt and given it gets colder when the sun disappears it comes as no surprise that a NIGHT time game is under threat of being delayed. Our manager was fully prepared to play on Saturday, draw your own coclusions.

From the Darlington forum:
"I see Banbury's FA Trophy match Tuesday night has been frozen off already. They are going to try to play on Wednesday as they hope it will have defrosted by then. Nuff said really."
Just a sensible precaution to put it back 24 hours and hope that the promised rise in temperatures actually happens this time (and it might not have been done if it was a league match).
"Another tinpot club, sounds like they are desperate for some income, and knowing our strong away support they would have been desperate to get our game on at all costs."
Any club would prefer to play on Saturday afternoon rather than Tuesday evening, irrespective of who the opponents are and how many they bring with them. Evening matches are generally less well attended.

It’s warmed up in the north but not here but they can’t use a weather app up there

Tinpot remarks are unnecessary but you don’t exactly help your cause when your manager comes it with comments like only parts of the pitch were unplayable that wouldn’t be used much anyway! I’ve never heard anything so moronic!

Funny given that it was apparently perfectly playable on Saturday and temperatures have improved since then! Temperature not improved but got worse here, predicted upto minus 5 last night, max Temperature today depends on which site you look at. 7pm tonight expected to be near freezing again. The warmer air will move down overnight. So it is currently warmer up north, things have got worse not better 😒

Still doesn’t alter the fact that the pitch had been deemed fit to play by being inspected on the Friday and again on Saturday until the Match Referee changed his mind within an hour of his original inspection thus causing the club to come in for unjustified criticism. As for the managers comments he stated that 95% of the pitch was okay with just one small area in one corner being worse than anywhere else. And contrary to public opinion it’s not always colder up north than it is down here.

You can certainly make a strong argument for this being the fault of the referees for not coming to a unanimous conclusion on pitch inspections despite the pitch being in a similar state each time (I would imagine). The Banbury manager creating a fiction to blame Darlington who had no say on the pitch inspection result is where I take issue.

It’s very simple really and not a criticism of either camp ,Banbury Utd manager and team thought the conditions were safe and playable after the officials declared the pitch playable at 1.15pm and 100% were preparing to play the fixture,on the flip side Darlington manager and team did not share that opinion of the conditions and made this known to the officials who revisited the area of concern and called the fixture off on player safety grounds.
Look forward to welcoming you back in the spring.
