It's been stated by many that KL's squad is full-time. Is that true? Certainly, some KL fans dispute the claim that the squad is well-funded and is doing well simply because of good management. After all, financial problems led to their relegation last season. Being promoted during the pandemic didn't help.

Improving Darlington went there on Saturday, level on points but having played a game more. They lost 0-3. From their forum:

"Sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and admit you were second best and completely outplayed all over the park. They looked fitter, faster, passed the ball well and battled for everything. In fact, they looked like a side from a higher division than us."

An absolutely excellent game of non league football. Both teams fast and fit with crisp passing.

KL 1st goal followed a completely wrong decision by the officials leading to Whingy on the pitch at half time to bitterly complain. KL 2nd goal a howler from our defence giving the ball away. KL 3rd poor marking.

At the other end well taken goal from Jack, followed by us hitting the post, 2 goal line scrambles, great double save from the keeper and missing penalty.

The performance was excellent the result in the end highly disappointing

It certainly is disappointing and frustrating especially when we are constantly being told by other teams we are one of the best they have played but we do have to put a realistic spin on things.

The highlights show some worryingly poor defensive work at times, notably from set pieces. The second goal was an embarrassment, messing about 20 yards from the goal. Sam Brown was at fault for the third, just as he was for Spennymoor's winner, getting turned too easily. The less said about the penalty the better.

Unfortunately, the video didn't show the incident that led to the disputed corner for the first goal.
