Raising prices by that much in the middle of a recession wasn't the most sensible thing to do, especially with the club sitting on a cash bonanza. The restriction on benefits for members was simply mean. As for attendances...it's only three years since a season's average of 400 was considered an achievement. It happened only four times from 2000-01 to 2019-20 and three of them required visiting supporters to get past that mark. Banbury's last 10 league games have averaged 1,090. Five had 1,000+, the last three consecutively. There's been nothing like that since 1968. And despite the economic situation and geography, I think we can expect a bigger contribution from visitors than we've seen for a very long time. |

Hot weather and holidays were certainly a factor. The attendance number surprised me, I estimated around 700 to 800. I think we need to take this into context, compared to a year ago, attendance numbers have more than doubled due to the success on the pitch and the hard work that goes on, off the pitch. Last season an initiative called "Project 800" was born I am sure that the objective has been reached.
As for yesterday's game, all credit to our fitness in difficult conditions, just hopes we recover for Tuesday evening's game. Just to see how far we have come, just have a look at the Boston fan's forum and their predictions.

What a fantastic result and performance. Unbelievable start to the season. The effort from the players was outstanding.
