Tamworth are unbeaten in 8, have drawn their last three away games.
They seem to score goals at home but have a defence that concedes goals.
If we play like the first half against Lowestoft then we should win 3 Nil. But I think it may well be a cagy affair and there will be 1 goal in it.
Attendance possibly around 1,500 on saturday would be good!
Other predictions???

Definitely plenty of chat on social media about Saturdays game, so 1500 should be achievable.

Tamworth have had a mixed season. They started well enough. In early November they were 6th with seven wins in their first 12 matches but won only one of their next 15, falling 11 places. The arrival of Andy Peaks from Rushden has improved matters. He's been in charge since the second match in their current unbeaten run.
There's an interesting comparison to be made between the clubs over the last 40 years. In 1984, when Banbury were considering resigning from the Southern League and dropping into the Hellenic, Tamworth were relegated from the SL to the West Midlands League. They had had four punishing years (79-83) in the Northern Premier League and were in as poor a state as Banbury.
The clubs then went in different directions, Banbury eventually into the Hellenic and Tamworth, under new ownership, back into the SL in 1988 (they won the Vase a year later), up to the Premier division in 1997 and finally into the Conference in 2003. In the FA Cup they made the First Round nine times in 16 seasons, five times going onto the Second and three times to the Third with trips to Stoke and Everton.
Including their time in the SL Premier before the formation of the Conference regional divisions, Tamworth spent 21 successive seasons in the top two levels of the non-league system. Their relegation to the SL in 2018 came as a bit of a surprise. After three comfortable top-half finishes in Conference North, there was little sign of trouble to come when they beat local rivals Nuneaton in the New Year's Day derby. At that point they were 12th but one win in their final 18 games saw them relegated.
I'm sure the BU board will keen to question the visitors on life amongst the elite...

Tamworth ... have a defence that concedes goals. Tamworth head into the game on the back of a 5-2 win over Needham Market last Saturday. Although Manager Andy Peaks was pleased with the win, he saw there is still plenty of room for improvement: "We weren't great defensively..."www.tamworthfc.co.uk/tfc-news/20220330-lambs-head-to-banbury-unitedAttendance possibly around 1,500 on Saturday would be good! It seems fitting that Tamworth who first played at the stadium in 1936 should be the visitors for this big game. Tamworth were in the Birmingham Combination when I first went to see Banbury Spencer. I remember walking along Swan Close road joined by supporters who lived in the Cherwell area as we met up with those walking down Hightown road from Easington. Then it was down Tramway and over the field to the turnstiles. No clubhouse in those days just steaming mugs of tea to warm the hands. Up the Reds.

Not a free flowing game,Tamworth spent a lot of time back behind the ball nullifying most of our attacks and breaking forward to counter without a lot of success, that said their goal was one that was either going in or hitting row ‘Z’. The second half was better with a bit more control, Jack was called into play a couple of times to keep things level. The one occasion we really caught them led to a well taken Stevens goal. Once the Coalville result filtered through the celebrations began, only negative was missing out on the win with another missed penalty but who really care’We are the CHAMPIONS ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️‘

There was a bit of nonsense yesterday in the first half by a handful of knuckle draggers, one of them with a bloodied face was being taken out by a steward when 3 or 4 of his mates tried to grab him back, don’t know what took place after that. Obviously nothing to do with Banbury, just a handful of brain dead looking for a fight.

Obviously nothing to do with Banbury, just a handful of brain dead looking for a fight. The small group of Tamworth fans were in the Banbury Cross pub and were looking for a fight, a friend of mine said when I arrived at the pub around 1.30 don't mention the football as they are looking for a fight saying where are the Banbury fans and talking about boxing. So no surprise at the ground they found trouble!

From my view point ( puritans bar ) the Tamworth fans came for trouble , found it then we’re on their toes very sharpish when they came seriously unstuck
