The final average of 794.7 was the best since 1967-68. Just 106 more during the season would have pushed it to exactly 800. Bromsgrove pipped Banbury in the division with 798.4.
Up to Christmas the figure was 545 in 11 matches; since then, a fraction short of 1,100 in nine.
