The pressmans assessment of the match on the Rushden forum is an interesting read, in a nutshell neither goal should have stood owing to the ineptitude of the match officials and we were diving all over the place with the slightest touch. Perhaps if the opposition weren’t putting it about so much we might not have been hitting the deck so often, that said the record will still say 2-0 to the Puritans. Hurrah for biased and incompetent referees! The great Liverpool and Manchester United champions of the last 50 years would have been nothing without them!

Changes of manager elsewhere are rarely of interest here but this one's worthy of comment: Andy Peaks has left Rushden for Tamworth. You couldn't see a much greater contrast in fortunes than for these two clubs this season. R&D were 17th in October but 12 wins in 16 games have taken them into the play-off places. At the start of November, Tamworth were 6th with 7 wins from 12. Since then, they've taken just 5 points from 14 matches and are 5 points above the relegation places.
