Good evening folks. It should be a really exciting interesting game tonight with 5 ex Diamonds, 3 of which we were very sorry to lose (Brown, Acquah, Morgan). Just hope we get a better ref than you had Saturday. I saw the video and although a bit rash from the young lad it was in an area of no danger and he is certainly not a dirty player. We have had some close encounters over the past couple of seasons and I don't expect this to be any different. Look forward to catching up with you tomorrow morning.

I had been hoping for a much closer game but we were just not at the races. The only consolation was that none of the famous (infamous) five scored! Good luck until the next time we meet.

Interesting to note a tinge of sour grapes with the comment ‘Banbury didn’t have to be great to beat us’, a great example again of a club that thinks it’s better than it really is and still living on past glories. The boot was on the other foot last night( bit of irony there).

And some of them are still chafing about ex-Diamonds in the Banbury squad, as though all five of them moved en bloc in the summer.

They obviously couldn't get a tune out of the players when they were with them originally 🙄

The comment we couldn't get a tune out of them is not correct. We had great performances from Acquaye and Sam Brown was with us from Step 6 to Step 3.We introduced Morgan Roberts to senior men's football and were really sorry when he was recalled only to join his brother a few weeks later. Jack Westbrook was another who always put in a good shift. The only decent game Wreh had was scoring 4 in 20 mins v Hitchin last year. It is a misconception to say Diamonds supporters live in the past. The current club is so far removed from the old R and D. This club is our club whereas the old club we had no say in its running whatsoever which was evident from the dubious character that destroyed our club, not to be mistaken as meaning Max Griggs. Today we are completely run by volunteers which brings us so much closer to the players and our achievements have been through sheer hard work and dedication by many committed fans.

Think there has been some friction stirred up by comments from some supporters like moneybags Banbury splashing the cash and the swap over of players between both clubs has added to the negativity.Suffice to say if you are aware of our recent history we are like yourselves in a much better place and there will always be a handful who live on past glories, sadly we haven't got any of them yet  |
