Well I don’t know how anyone else feels but after having waited god knows how long to watch a game of football it was all destroyed in the tenth minute by a referee who overall hadn’t got a clue, it’s easy to have a biased opinion being a home supporter but if this is the standard for the rest of the season then we are in for some bumpy rides. Regarding the game, with the red card it was interesting to note that the No4 made a miraculous recovery and Morgan Roberts is certainly not a dirty player. Even with a man down we were the better side and Stourbridge didn’t press home their advantage. I’m just hoping that other teams in this league don’t use the practice of whinging to the officials every chance they get as Stourbridge were doing, can’t help feeling that we were cheated out of the win, that said a screamer from Ben which was no more tha we deserved.

Not for the purists I know but we have to adapt the tactic of screaming and rolling about whenever we are tackled in order to "alert" the referee that we have been fouled. The quality of officials is unlikely to improve after today's disappointing display and we must adopt the tactic of theatrical screaming and antics whenever we are tackled. It is the nature of the game Today and we are going to be on the receiving end of more poor referring decisions unless we learn quickly to use every advantage in the book. We are going to miss Morgan for three matches thanks to an appalling decision by a referee quite clearly out of his depth and, as for the linesmen - sorry they are not referee assistants, when they are blatantly overruled and ignored by some one further away from an incident than they are.
However, what a great display from the Puritans who never let their heads drop and kept plugging away. Screamer of an equalising goal and the winner (nearly) only a whisker away. Well Played and what a great start to the season against one of the so-called fancy sides?

First match I've attended since Whingy took over. I have to say I like the style of football we played, all the more impressive taking the sending off and the fact we were playing the bookies favourites for the title. On that point I was disappointed by Stourbridge's lack of ambition, just another niggly team that seem to proliferate at this level. Certainly no more than we deserved.

Would've taken a point with 11 players today, ref tried his best to ruin our chances with a shocking decision not helped by the playacting of the Stourbridge player and the appeals from their team, but we got on with it, full credit to the players, a well earmt point. I thought everyone played well today and a cracking goal against a big goalkeeper who made a decent first half save. If we can hold on to these players, I believe we will have a good Season, but most of all, it's great to have fans back and the league up and running again, Well played lads!!!

Absolutely excellent performance from the team after a shocking start. Very positive vibes. Really hope the team can keep that up. If we/they can, great prospects

The 2&4 refereed the game in the first half. Top effort and fully deserved three points. Keep everyone fit and we'll go well.

A good attendance, boosted by a decent turnout from Stourbridge. Given the long break and all the pre-season activity and publicity, there were a few optimistic forecasts for something rather better. Nevertheless, it's still the best for an opening day match since 1974.

A question on attendances. Is there any significant effect on crowds at Banbury if Oxford United are playing at home too?

Loads of Oxford fans in the Banbury area and a few do indeed attend Banbury home games
