If i remeber rightly Mr Bentley, played just off the forwards at our home game and showed he has alot of ability, but he was quiet that day and i thought that Winchester should have been seen off before they pulled the goal back. Hopefully we can play the same again and not let them back into the game.

Brief Radio Oxford interview with Mike Ford here: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03qdj2nFeature starts at about 48:30. Note the presenter's intro "Banbury looking for a place back in the Premier Division for the first time in a while". Just the one season, Jerome...

Whatever happens today I'm so proud of my Club. From the Board, Supporters,Manager and Players It once again feels like we are truly United.Obviously I really hope we win but It's not the end of the world if we don't.We have made progress in so many ways and I'm looking forward to next season whichever league we are in. Enjoy today I think we deserve to celebrate whatever the outcome.

Well, did we ever doubt it, it's still sinking in as to what we as a club have achieved in such a short space of time. The game itself was always going to be a tense affair and although Taunton had a fair amount of possession they did nothing with it and I think they did'nt have a meaningful chance until the 87th minute. The game could have been spoilt by a mediocre ref,Andy Gunne must be black and blue from the treatment he got from the Taunton No10, no doubt in an effort to get him sent off again with no protection at all, but all's well that ends well.

So Leamington missed out in the playoffs,as did rushden, from what I can see we've got, kings Langley,st ives,Havant,Basingstoke all new visits next year, and no worries about Salisbury cheating there way to promotion.

Fantastic. Great performance by the players. Taunton, despite their tough bruising attitude, really didn't have much of a look in. Thought the ref was weak, but who cares about that now. WELL DONE EVERYONE INVOLVED AT THE CLUB.... BRILLIANT AND WELL DESERVED.

Not long in (late trains...), head still throbbing but bottle-opener already busy.
I don't know whether old boy Neil Lazarus would have been good enough to get in this team but his would be an appropriate name on the team sheet after the year this club has had. Great stuff, everybody.
PS Leicester? Pah! Nothing on us!

Two fairytales in one day Banbury United and Leicester. What a season it has been. To see the photos of the packed ground shows just how far the club has come this season. Banbury United is a role model of what a supporters owned club is all about. Hopefully many of the team will be with Banbury next season although good players from other clubs will be queuing up to join us. Finally from afar thanks to everyone involved with the club for a fantastic season. Will now open a bottle of Old Hooky to celebrate and return in September to see a couple of games.
PS. Perhaps the team on an open top bus going through the town. Hang on might be getting a bit carried away!

Notes on the attendance.
First of 1,000 for more than 10 years and only the 7th in 42.
Second biggest since the Northampton FA Cup first round tie in November 1973, exceeded only by the Birmingham Senior Cup match against Villa in November 1994 (1,871).
Four-figure attendances will always be rare but a more revealing measure of the club's failings in recent decades is that it was only the 12th attendance of 700+ in 30 years (and probably worse than that but I don't have full attendance data for the years 74-86).
