Must admit to being a tad surprised that there's not been more rejoicing on the Forum with the Puritans having secured their Southern League/Zamaretto Premier Division status last Saturday for 2011-12 ! Some of you may groan if it's pointed out that Billy has a low budget compared to the majority of other Clubs but money and budgets are a main factor these days as to whether a Club is successful or not. Banbury United remain in a very steady position compared to others thanks to the tremendous work undertaken by volunteers and they too should be rightly proud of their efforts. There have been low's and groans on the pitch this season but they have to be expected because of £££'s, the way forward for Banbury United in my opinion is to aim to reduce the number of low's and groans on the pitch each season which would thus see them higher up the league. To do this, Billy needs to keep on doing what he's doing eg scouting players and getting a few loanee's in from Oxford and Northampton. The fans can help do their bit other than by attending fixtures - speak to your employer and see whether they can do something/anything to help the Club by way of offering their services or by sponsorship - even if it's just a kit sponsorship ! The volunteer army can't do it all by themselves, they need help to keep the community club that is Banbury United moving in the right direction ! I shall now step down from my soapbox whilst you all speak to your Bosses !

Must admit to being a tad surprised that there's not been more rejoicing on the forum with the Puritans having secured their Southern League Premier Division status last Saturday. I think most supporters considered Banbury safe after beating Stourbridge. It was extremely unlikely that they would be overtaken after that. Having said that, there were very few responses to the Stourbridge victory and that says more about the general feeling amongst supporters at the club, reflected in the lack of comment on this board this season. While the board is doing a much better job since the changes of September 2008, the fact remains that the club is 'treading water': lack of finance, the possibility of a change of venue, the unattractiveness of the opposition and more. This season's average attendance will be the lowest since 2000-01 and that isn't just the result of notional economic circumstances. The club needs a 'big figure' to shake things up a bit but who is that person?

Cannot understand the mallaise on here, though as for crowds, most clubs are suffering,as with any sport success is the only guarantee of increased attendances, and seeing as the Banbury public(and believe me what i saw yesterday makes me worry for the future) are not keen on getting off there fat arses the future of the club will always be a bit perilous. At least we never spunked a £9k a week on ex pros chasing an easy pay day. Let's hope Billy sticks it out as there could be some good awaydays next year.

To be serious, we do need new investment into the club, one major sponsor we can work with alongside Nicholls would be nice or 3/4 smaller sponsors. Billy and his managment team have put together a great squad who could go onto greater things next season. We need support from Companies in Banburyshire.

It's been a bit touch and go at times, but given the resources that we can call on a sterling effort by all concerned with of course special thanks to the Manager and back room staff.Hopefully next season we will be able to improve and above all we need some positive news about a new ground so that we can move forward positively.
