You're not the first to comment on it, Mr B. Another season of mediocre results in a mediocre league with the club apparently in limbo (stadium and all that) appears to have sapped everyone's enthusiasm (reflected also in the attendances). Nervousness over the team's immediate position doesn't help. At this time of the season we usually speculate on the following season's opponents but that's obviously off limits at the moment! Perhaps it's a bit of the 'elephant in the room' syndrome. Keith R mentioned 'it' and got four responses, one of them not entirely serious. The BG preview, which leads with a feeble pun, doesn't say much either.

Town don't deserve a team, wait till Brackley, esp if we need a point, all the once a year johnny's will be there.Fed up of the apathy that stinks the place out at the moment.Be a small crowd tomorrow with england playing,a forward thinking club like Leamington will benefit financially from an early KO.Please get us 3points tomorrow.

This forward thinking club did try to make alternative arrangements so not to clash with England.

What was the problem Nigel ? I would like to have seen the club try Friday night, would have been interesting to see how many turned up. The crowd tomorrow is bound to be affected by the England game.

I understand they did refuse - in the nicest possible of ways
They did not object to playing on the Friday in principle at all but after investigation found they would have two players who could not make it. In the circumstances of them needing points and in their position they could not afford to send a weakened side - which is all in my view perfectly fair enough

But did they refuse an earlier Saturday KO? Only three clubs in the SL have moved theirs.

As we haven't got sky do not think it would be worth moving to earlier. It is hardly a game to get the pulses racing though is it? I mean Wales - England of course! Come on you Reds.

I am told Bedford had problems in getting players off work for an early kick off, they have one or two postman playing for them ( I just pleased they did not DELIVERY for Bedford Saturday pm). but in the end I don't think England affected our crowd a great deal. Thanks to our faithful followers

I wouldn't give up your day job to be a stand up Nigel! Having said that they didn't stamp their authority on the game and if they go down they might get their manager the sack. Just a shame the league won't letters off the point we were deducted. I'll get my coat.

What England players can you honestly say you like anymore? No characters of note and can't really say there's any role models for the kids to look up to, just look at the captain!
