Halesowen might not see out the season. The Ingram brothers, backers of the club since the Morrell Maison adventure, have taken the hump because of an article written in the local paper. Godfrey has resigned and withdrawn his financial support, so Graham, chairman, considers the club to be 'commercially unsustainable' and may pull the plug if new backing is not found pronto. I presume this is the offending article from the Halesowen News: www.halesowennews.co.uk/news/local/8888262.EXCLUSIVE___Yeltz_supremo_embroiled_in_US_racketeering_court_case/Godfrey Ingram's statement: www.halesowentownfc.co.uk/News/333/Statement-from-Godfrey-Ingram-in-response-to-Halesowen-News-Article-Graham Ingram's statement: www.halesowentownfc.co.uk/Article/335/Statement-From-the-ChairmanThe A, B, E, H, M, L and S keys on my keyboard will soon be worn out from typing the word 'shambles'...

The last thing I read was that a consortium was trying to get control of the club and have been trying to do so since christmas, there does'nt seem to be much more information forthcoming though.

Latest news from HTFC website.
Following my statement last week, I would like to confirm the future of football club still remains critical and very much in the balance. Although two separate parties expressing an interest in the football club have contacted me, as yet there has been no serious offers to help address the clubs current financial dilemma. However following talks with the clubs football management I am pleased to confirm the playing staff are determined to meet the clubs remaining fixtures regardless of the lack of funding currently available. This is a fantastic testament of the dedication of the current squad and of the determination the current management team has to keep going regardless of the adverse circumstances the club is facing. However this gesture will be futile unless the remaining home gate attendances improve considerably as gate income is currently the clubs lifeline. Without a substantial improvement for the remaining home games the club may still be faced with the very real threat of folding as a result of the ongoing off field business costs that will shortly become due. I would therefore like to appeal to all Halesowen Supporters to pull together as one to make a huge final effort to attend the clubs remaining home fixtures and to also bring at least one friend. A massive turnout will not only be a gesture of appreciation towards the dedication of the playing staff but could more importantly buy the precious time the club requires to secure funding for the new season. I would like to think this appeal could also give the local press the opportunity to support an initiative that could help save their home town football club from extinction.
Graham Ingram
(Chairman/Director)

Some posters on the Halesowen forum suggest that Mr Ingrams' appeal to the supporters to turn out in greater numbers is nothing more than a desire to extract a few more notes from them before he cuts and runs.
NB I merely pass this on for your information. I would never personally suggest anything so wickedly cynical...
