Yesterday's top-of-the-table meeting of St Neots and King's Lynn drew an attendance of 1,481, the biggest in the UCL since Stamford were winning three titles in a row in the early 80s. King's Lynn won 4-2 to close the gap to just one point. It was St Neots' first defeat of the season. There were reports of some 'incidents' before, during and after the game, some involving people who weren't even inside the ground for the match... St. Neots 23 19 3 1 94-13 60 +81 Newport Pagnell 26 18 6 2 78-30 60 +48 Kings Lynn 23 19 2 2 81-23 59 +56 The clubs meet again on Saturday, at King's Lynn in the Vase .

The inbreds in the fens always have had a strong following and to be fair as I have said before they probably don't even realise that they have been relegated yet ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's been a while since Whitley Bay have lost a game in the Vase, they've won the last 2 finals. Last season's was a bit one sided.

Whitley Bay aren't keen on giving that cup back.

FA Vase SFs, 2nd legs: Whitley Bay 3-1 Poole Town (2,842) Kings Lynn Town 2-3 Coalville Town (2,354) Sadly, but perhaps not surprisingly, there was a bit of bother at King's Lynn ( report). A Lynn v. Poole final would probably have been better attended than Coalville v. Whitley Bay.

The next 10 days could decide King's Lynn's season. They are seven points behind St. Neots with two games in hand. They play those games this Tuesday and next, while on Saturday they are at home to St. Neots, for whom Lewis 'Boris' Hilliard has been playing.

Lynn lost 2-4. Attendance was a modest 1,445. Looks like another season in the UCL for Linnets, which will be considered some sort of justice by those who thought they should have started in the first division rather than the premier. St. Neots 37 98 151-31 +120 King's Lynn 35 88 115-36 +79 40 to be played
