Truro's court hearing has been postponed for a fortnight; HMRC can object to administration. If the administration is confirmed, Truro will have 10 points deducted. That might not mean relegation based on their current form but if players are forced to leave they could take a tumble.

FROM THE FALMOUTH PACKET NEWSPAPER : Truro City fan asked to give Tim Sandercombe's shirt back as club can't afford a new one. Truro City FC have issued an appeal for the fan who was given Tim Sandercombe's shirt at the end of the Maidenhead match to return it as they can't afford a new one. Tim Sandercombe, who is set to leave Truro City for Conference North side Oxford City this week, gave his shirt to one of the club's supporters at the end of their match on Saturday. However, Truro are currently in administration and struggling to find the money needed to keep going. As a result Truro City manager Lee Hodges issued an appeal for the shirt to be returned to the club in time for Saturday's home match against Bromley. "Unfortunately after the match at Maidenhead he (Sandercombe) gave his shirt to one of the fans," said Hodges. "Because of the club's present predicament, we actually can't afford to buy another shirt, so if humanly possible can that fan please return the shirt to the club as soon as possible, in time for our match at home to Bromley this Saturday".

"Truro City have been set a deadline by the Football Conference of Thursday, 11 October..."
Slight confusion over the details of reports coming out of Truro but it appears that a last minute deal has fallen through. There's a meeting with players and staff at 9am tomorrow, possibly to read the last rites.
Saturday's game against Dover has been postponed.

And today's news is the reverse of last week's in that at one point the club was declared dead only to be revived later by the lodgement of a £50,000 bond to guarantee its future, apparently until the end of the season.
The payment was too late to save tomorrow's game at Eastleigh.

The Conference has released a long-winded statement full of the usual guff. It ends with what looks like a veiled threat:
"...the Football Conference wishes it to be known...that the Board is mandated...to consider and deal appropriately with any breaches which may have arisen during recent events at Truro City FC. The Board will therefore consider such at its next scheduled meeting."
In other words, although it wasn't possible to expel TCFC, it might be possible to deduct enough points to make it very difficult for them to avoid relegation.

The £50,000 bond has in fact been paid to the league "to cover the costs of sides travelling to Treyew Road should the club fold and their results be expunged". The administrator might yet close the club. The prospective new owners have been given preferred bidder status until 4 January. Full story
