The man of the people to the rescue again, he doesn’t do anything unless there is something in it for him. As for Nuneaton the current situation comes as no surprise, the club has been phoenix like for years, totally mismanaged for too long.

The sale appears to have fallen through. The supporters are completely in the dark about it all.

An 'emergency' groundshare, to run to March 6th, has been arranged with Barwell, at whose ground Hinckley also play. Borough will play their matches on Friday evenings or Sunday afternoons.

Nuneaton Club captain and also Leroy Lita have left (3 days ago) and gone to Coalville, Striker Stenson left today also! Nuneaton fans still wondering what is going on! Ground share with Barwell is only till March.

I really do want to have some sympathy with this situation but this club over the years has stumbled from one situation to another and has escaped being wound up more than once. Delusions of grandeur and writing cheques that couldn’t be cashed have bitten them on the backside quite a lot.

Well it sounds all very serious indeed this time round for them ; CLUB STATEMENT 18 Jan - 16:00 www.pitchero.com/clubsThursday 18th January, 2024; We regret to announce that Nuneaton Borough FC will be withdrawing from this season's Southern Central Premier League. Despite the dedicated efforts of our sponsors and officials, the club faces insurmountable challenges in maintaining operations. Our legal advisors have confirmed that the offer put forward to purchase Liberty Way will not be considered, and no new lease will be given to any entity. Unfortunately, armed with this information our future investors have had to withdraw any future support. Furthermore, without additional investment or new investors to provide financial support, the club is unable to continue trading. In light of these circumstances, we are now considering the liquidation process. This decision comes with a heavy heart, and we deeply appreciate the unwavering support from our loyal fans and the football community during this challenging time.

It's a long way from a winding-up order to liquidation but it's a sign that their financial position is worse than they were letting on. A few postponements in a wet autumn and winter doesn't add up to a big brown envelope from HMRC.
