One football stadium, unused. Prince Edward Playing Fields, Edgware, intended to be the home of Wealdstone but now Barnet's training ground. Work was abandoned when the developers got into difficulty and pulled out. The flat-roofed building in the centre was to be the main stand and accommodation block. Barnet have walled it in on the pitch side and turned into health spa, sports injuries clinic etc. The roofed terraces at each end of the pitch remain in place; the pitch is now overgrown. Barnet did talk about redeveloping it as a 7,000 capacity stadium but I think they now have permission to redevelop Underhill. Wealdstone may have aspirations to move here eventually. There is enough room on the railway side to construct changing rooms and a seating area. What a waste...

Obviously not as they have announced that they will move to the site in 2013 on a ten-year lease. Some fans are not happy about a six-mile drive to a ground outside the borough but there always is the possibility of a return should there be a change in circumstances (and attitudes).
