Didn't do the old foe Witney any good in the end and Cirencester fell away badly as well to name just two.

The St Albans City owners held a Q&A session this week. In short, the developer already owns the land and will build the ground at its own cost (!), lease it to SACFC for 10 years at a low rent and then sell it to the club for a nominal fee.
One response: "Does this sound like fairy-land stuff to anyone? The only reason I can think why the developer would be so generous is because they think it gives them a better chance of building on green-belt land."
There is virtually no chance of the current ground being built on. Clarence Park (the entire site, not just the football stadium) is a Victorian creation left to the town by Sir John Maples of furniture fame and is part of the conservation area.
