OC won 6-0 at Truro this afternoon. They were 2-0 up in the second half when Truro had a man sent off – Oxford scored from the resultant penalty. The opinion of some Truro supporters was the sending-off didn't make the slightest difference to the outcome.
"Oxford were excellent, an absolute joy to watch. Easily the best side seen here this season and, indeed, for a few seasons before that. Superb passing, clinical finishing, terrific tempo, and they beautifully exposed Truro's limitations."
"Oxford were a joy to watch and that's what I recall from the last time we played at this level."
"Oxford were a class unit."
"I too have nothing but praise for Oxford. The first goal was a stunner."
"I suggest those of us privileged enough to be at Treyew Road this afternoon were witness to just possibly the finest exhibition of football ever staged in a league match in Cornwall. Oxford must surely be in with a strong shout for the championship. If not, Heaven help Truro if we have to play plenty more sides of their calibre."
When the American Thomas Guerriero became Oxford City's president there was much sniggering about some of his public statements that appeared to show a poor understanding of English football and its history. Well, City are laughing at the moment – but for how long?

I do not wish to appear cynical or judgemental but with these situations it's amazing how many times the illness card is played,
