Sittingbourne's vast arena, Central Park, abandoned by the club in 2002 for the tin-shack training ground lash-up called Bourne Park, is to become a speedway venue. Built for greyhound racing (they like dogs in Kent), the track is currently being adapted for the Kent Kings.
Meanwhile, Sittingbourne, currently 10th in Isthmian Div 1S, are to abandon Bourne Park and move a couple of miles to Woodstock Park, the home of Kent League club Woodstock Sports, set in fields a mile or so to the south of the town. The ground isn't ready for Step 4 football so Sittingbourne won't be allowed to compete in the play-offs should they finish high enough.
Central Park was of course the venue for Banbury's first game on their return to the SL in 2000.
