I as a long time supporter have treid to remain impartial and avoid some of the rants that have ensued over recent months since the takeover. There have been up to now positives and negatives, results have gone for us and against us and in some cases the poor ones can be attributed to team selection, but I have to ask the question of where would we possibly have been without the changes. We all have to accept that change will not happen overnight and as we all know we have flirted and actually finished relegated in the last few seasons but today we sit about halfway up the league with no fear of dropping and finishing mid table,so by any standard it is an improvement. I have never believed that we would be good enough at this point to achieve even a play off place, so in summary I suggest we all take things for what they are for the rest of this season and all hope and pray that next season hits the ground running with whoever may be in charge.

...hope and pray that next season hits the ground running with whoever may be in charge. And there's the nub of it. Who wants it? Any takers for a failing club playing at a clapped-out ground that it doesn't own? Is the inevitable simply being postponed? At the moment the only link to the good old days remembered by us 'long time supporters' is the state of the pitch...
