Corby Town chairman Peter Mallinger died at the weekend, aged 74. The former Kettering town chairman was largely responsible for Corby's recent success, not only in getting them promotion to FCN but providing them with a new stadium.
Tellingly, the Northants ET today reports that with his death, the budget has been cut. Three players have left and manager Peter Drury says more may follow.

Maybe not sliding rapidly down the table but certainly subsiding as they continue to move players out. Just 4 wins in 12 games since the turn of the year, with some heavy defeats thrown in: 0-6, 1-6, 2-7. Attendances not great (though better than some seasons in SLE!), their last three Saturday games drawing 314, 282, 243. Very unlikely to be relegated despite their poor form.
Opening of new ground still delayed, possibly November.

I will never forget the sons question to his mother as they were waiting to get in the last time we played them, 'Who are we playing Mum', reply 'No idea',summed it up at the time.

I doubt that some of their regular supporters would have been able to answer the question either, given the state that they were in...

Opening of new ground still delayed, possibly November. In fact, Corby started the season in their new ground. Attendances so far 827, 793, 555.
