Cherwell flooding in Cropredy yesterday, game must be a major doubt! Ironic with the auction due today again!

On social media there are some comments that are sympathetic and some not so. Some are complaining that the match should have been called off at 7am when the first inspection was made on the basis that if the river was rising with water already on the pitch then it was a fair bet that conditions wouldn't improve. However, this is Hereford, not Darlington, Spennymoor or the likes. If you're setting off before 10am from a town less than two hours drive away, you can only be going on the pi$$. Complaint rejected.

Some of us believe that the game was not called off earlier because Banbury were desparate for the revenue the game (had it taken place) would've brought to your club (your Club's statement confirms this). Whilst I fully understand and am sympathetic to this, once again no consideration is given to any supporter who might be left out of pocket in a travel-expenditure sense. The game should have been called off earlier. The contents of your second sentence sums it up.

It'll be playable tomorrow. The river was at about 1.3m when yesterday's pictures were taken. It rose a little more, peaking at around 6-7pm. It's now fallen to 0.75m.

Weather has played havoc with fixtures and income.
But we are not Truro. They will be playing 8 home games in 14 days!
And I think they are being played at Gloucester?

Their match against Slough yesterday ko'd at 5pm; Gloucester had played Brackley at 1pm. Cinderford are also playing games at Gloucester. Taunton, whose pitch has been almost unplayable for months despite being half a mile from the River Tone and still have six home matches to play, have also enquired about playing there but it's almost fully booked. Most of the clubs in Nat South have played 20 or 21 home matches. Truro hope to be back in Cornwall in their new ground in the next year or so.

It would've saved me (at least) a wasted train ticket/morning. It seemed pretty clear by Thursday that the pitch was likely to be unplayable by Friday afternoon.
