As I was born in Banbury, first saw them V Gravesend and Northfleet circa 1968 and now live in Brackley. Im rather looking forward to this fixture, going to be two cracking games, BTW, ive never seen Brackley play..
I could never understand where they get the money from on such low crowds.

I wrote in the Champions thread that it would be galling if, just as Banbury join it, Brackley and Oxford leave the level they joined together in 2012. Brackley weren't the only local failure today. It's a shame we won't be playing them as well but we might meet in one of the cups. Even an OSC tie might be taken seriously for once!

Russians have bottled it in the play offs.. How did they become 'Russians'? I'd often heard them referred to as Bogtrotters/Bogsiders because the ground's at the lower end of the town, a bit cold and damp on an winter's evening and only a long drop-kick from the site of the former sewage works. The Postman's Playthings never seemed to catch on...

Not sure but possibly due to a individual pumping money in, like Hmm. Abramovich took over Chelsea in 2003. I think 'Russians' was in use before that.

There's an August BH as well. Gloucester? Kettering?
This season the NL had its Easter fixtures on the Friday and the Monday.

It will be interesting to see how many tickets we will get next season and how many puritans in the home ends According to reports, York had 600 there today but it appears that they had been provisionally allocated 2,000. According to this statement, 1,400 tickets were withdrawn from sale after trouble at their semi-final against Chorley on Wednesday. A fortnight ago, Blyth brought not very many and they appeared to be penned in one corner of the away end. The capacity at Brackley is given as 3,500 and it would be reasonable to assume that they can cater for varying numbers of away fans.

Would have thought the several home fans would get the smallest part of the ground 😄
