A huge digger in one afternoon has demolished the Kings Sutton end Terracing that has stood for, what 50/60 years ? to be replaced by nice new concrete. The old place WILL look different next season.

Very disappointed that the club couldn't make some arrangements with the EA and CDC for some form of terracing, even if a temporary steel affair like Brackley, Bedford and Chesham.

Are you saying that that end will be stepped? Word was that it would be a flat hard-standing.

Steel piling already in – see photos. It could be argued that the instruction to volunteers and spectators that Nigel has placed in the goalmouth was being observed by the players for much of last season...

Steel piles will be topped by a concrete plinth and then a fence on top of that, it should help to shelter from the winds that blow across the meadows.

The construction guys are finding a whole treasure trove of old bottles under what was the terracing. Some are Hunt Edmunds bottles and another was marked Patterson ?? We have now been told the terracing was built in 1954.

Patterson? If it was an original Patteson bottle (no 'r') it would be almost 200 years old. More likely that it's a Watney's brand name, the result of many brewery takeovers in Norfolk.

From the BS matchday programme v Brierly Hill Alliance on 25th August, 1956 ; "During last Tuesday evening's game (v Rugby Town) we were very pleased to see a lot of people take advantage of the new terracing at the south end of the ground. Quite a lot of letters have been received congratulating both our Supporters Club and ourselves on the improvements made at the Stadium.... The attendance was 2,080"
